It’s #howmuchhaveyouchangedchallenge – Let’s See What The Broad Life Changed!
#howmuchhaveyouchangedchallenge is a great challenge! Yes, it’s actually another interesting challenge that I found out about just right after the #5countrieschallenge. I haven’t thought that people have many challenges to participate in.
However, I will use this challenge to take a look back at the journey of The Broad Life. Since the first start in 2014, the blog has only 2 versions. And here’s how it was:
2014 – Version 1 – The Beginning
Honestly, I started this travel blog when I wasn’t in a good mood, and it was on the day of August 2014. Actually, that was a rainy day, and suddenly I recognized that I was unable to remember all the beautiful days when I traveled with my family since I was a child. The feeling was so bad. As a result, I thought of making a blog so I can save every best journey in life.
I started as unskilled and inexperienced. Initially, I went with WordPress.com for a free version so stuff is set up easily. I had no plan to write articles, organize the pages, or do anything technically related to SEO, etc. At that time, all I did was write anything which came up in my head to save my memories of great trips that happened in my life.
I knew that an unskilled person needs to work harder to keep a project or work continuously running long. Indeed, I learned different lessons related to doing a blog. I took a lot of pictures anytime I wander around. I optimized small details on the page. Finally, the blog developed, but it wasn’t significant because I learned everything myself. Unfortunately, everything wasn’t changing so much later…
A Big Gap in 2016 – 2017
There was a period when I both focused on training my English skills while working for a monthly income. Yes, it was the days in 2016, when I started losing my concentration on writing blog posts.
Going to 2017, I went to Canada to follow my post-grad certificate with the hope that I could find a job and live my life there. In fact, I quit school half the year later and travel from Toronto to Banff National Park. It turned out to be one of the best journeys ever in my life. And because there were many new things that came into my life, I slightly forgot to keep my travel blog up with new articles.
I decided to go back to Vietnam after the trip. Additionally, I carried some crypto wallets with me on my laptop. I jumped into the crypto world at that time, where I believed that I would make money fast. Fortunately, that crypto world brought me to a meeting of guys who do MMO (Make Money Online). It was when The Broad Life once again appeared in my mind, leading me to the idea of significantly developing the blog.
Right before I made my big move, The Broad Life covered 3 continents with 7 countries on the page. Those countries included Cambodia, Canada, Japan, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam.
2018 – Now – Version 2 – The Great Development
I had a friend who supported me to do the big transformation of the page in March 2018. I bought the real domain after 4 years of using it for free on WordPress.com. In addition, I bought hosting, a theme, and some widget to be ready for development. After nearly 1 month of full-time focus on work, The Broad Life had today’s appearance.
Of course, I had to write more and more to keep everything waking up. Fortunately, some friends knew about the page and wanted to share their stories on it. Alongside this, I tried all the ways to optimize the page so I can reach out to more audiences.
As a result, many people knew about The Broad Life. Evenly, some of my friends and audiences said that I improved my writing skill a lot, and it was possible to evenly write a book. Haha, not sure if those were true compliments but I was a little bit happy about that. Furthermore, some international writers and agencies contacted me to do the sponsored post. That was when I knew that my page was doing well and that my effort has been paid.
Currently, The Broad Life has posts of travel destinations that cover 7 continents and 44 countries in the world. And that could be a clear answer for the challenge #howmuchhaveyouchangedchallenge. Incredibly, it is such a long step since Version 1 thanks a lot to the huge contribution of the writers! And yes, I’m still looking for like-minded writers who would love to share travel stories on this travel blog.
Meet the Authors
It’s an HONORED BOARD of Authors and Contributors where The Broad Life shows thankfulness to its beloved and valuable people who support the travel blog. Any pieces of content, photo, or information are all extremely appreciated.
In the beginning, one main writer and a few friends helped me with the info, word, and pictures to make the first posts on the blog. The Broad Life now has many contributors from different places in the world who make the scale-up for the blog.
Again, I appreciate this #howmuchhaveyouchangedchallenge a lot that creates a chance for me to look back at the development of this travel blog. Also, don’t forget to contact me if you want to be one of our authors and share your travel stories with many people in the world!

I really loved reading this. We all change so much, and often times, it’s mor than we even realize. It makes me stop and think about how much I’ve changed.

Thank goodness for good supportive friends. Growth is hard and building a website/brand is even harder.

I would say my blog has stayed mainly in the same focus, but my approach has changed. None of us go through the years without changing in some way, though.

I always love to read the blogging journey of other bloggers. They are so inspiring and makes me want to give more. It is not easy and I also started by setting up free wordpress until four years later, but your blog will grow with you and will grow more in the years to come.

Very interesting challenged to look at where you’ve been before: for comfort, for nostalgia, for boredom or merely because what you’re currently going through is tough.
