Top 10 Places to Visit in Seoul, Korea

Seoul, the capital of Korea, has all kinds of attractions you can expect to be the top travel destination in East Asia. From amazing landmarks and beautiful landscapes to delicious food, Seoul hasn’t ever disappointed any visitors. On top of that, there are places in the Korean capital city that you should visit, especially on your first-time travel. Let’s follow The Broad Life to explore places to visit in Seoul, Korea.

Hongdae

Address: near Hongik University.

Hongdae is Seoul’s most exciting neighborhood. It’s famous for barbecue restaurants, bars as well as cosmetic stores, and a series of antique stores. Similar to Tokyo’s Harajuku neighborhood, this place is very funny, passionate, and flooded with neon lights. One of the most exciting streets is Eoulmadang Street, where Kpop music covers often take place full of energy.

Cheonggyecheon

Address: 1 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu.

Cheonggyecheon Is an 11 km long stream flowing through the center of Seoul. The stream has from the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910), flowing from the art venue of Cheonggye Plaza and flowing into Hangang River. The coastal walking trails are divided into small areas with 22 bridges. This is the familiar entertainment and relaxation spot of the Seoul people.

Displaying 45,000 items created during the Joseon Dynasty. One of the most attractive galleries is the place to display traditional items related to birth, death, and marriage, for example, a stone placenta bottle used by the royal family. When a member of the Royal Family gives birth, both the placenta and the umbilical cord (the energy is said to be connected to the prosperity of the nation) will be placed in a pot, then stored on the mountain.

Starfield Library

Address: 513 스타필드 코엑스몰 B1, Yeongdong-daero, Gangnam-gu.

Located in the center of Coex shopping center, right opposite Bongeunsa temple, Starfield Library is famous for 50,000 books and 13 m high shelves, bending around a central skylight, two floors. This is also a check-in point, taking photos to attract young people. The artwork in the library center includes trees and a tower made entirely from books. The library also has a few cafes, shops, and restaurants.

Gwangjang Market

Address: 88 Changgyeonggung-ro, Jongno-gu.

This market in the Jongno-Gu district is where you will find the best street food in Seoul such as large octopus, pig intestines, chicken feet, kimbap, and hotdogs. Bindaetteok and seafood are the dishes you can find here. This is a great place to line up before a night of fun. You can also enjoy chilled Cass, a famous Korean beer.

Bongeunsa Temple

Address: 531 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu.

This location is complex, not just a single temple. Outstanding in the population is the Bongeunsa Buddhist temple dating back to 794, a great quiet place right in the heart of Seoul. The highlight of the temple is the wood-carved works on the Avatamsaka Sutta. At this point, visitors and local people can better understand the history of the temple by registering for the Dado tea ceremony and meditation.

N Seoul Tower

Address: 105 Namsangongwon-gil, Yongsan-gu.

Is the most famous panoramic view of Seoul. A cable car will take you to N Seoul tower on the top of the hill for 5 minutes or you can also walk here. From the top of the tower, you can see the scenery of the Korean capital filled with green space and residential areas flowing around the feet of the hills.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

You will be surprised to know that in Seoul not only 1 but there are 5 main palaces. Gyeongbokgung is the largest and most important palace in Korea. Along with the Forbidden City in Beijing, Seoul is also considered one of the unique tourist destinations, imbued with the traditional cultural identity of the nation through long-standing, ancient and beautiful architectural works.

The tourist destination of Korea – Gyeongbokgung Palace is a large complex, where the Korean National Folk Museum attracts many visitors every day. What should I do to Gyeongbokung? Rent a brilliant traditional Hanbok outfit, a beautiful little bike to get free tickets to the palace to visit the palace, and be spoiled for a virtual royal style.

Bukchon Hanok Village

Address: Gye-dong, Jongno-Gu.

Located between the two Gyeongbokgung palaces and Changdeokgung palace is the famous ancient village called Bukcheon Hanok as picturesque. The village is home to more than 400 old houses you often see in Korean historical films. The ancient village inside has many lovely cafes, pure tea ceremonies, restaurants, and souvenir shops selling sophisticated handicraft products of Korea.

Lotte World

Address: 240 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu.

Lotte World is the most exciting complex entertainment area in Korea with the largest indoor entertainment area in the world. In addition, Lotte World also has an outdoor entertainment area called Magic Land, an artificial island connected to a bustling shopping center.

Lotte World also owns a luxurious hotel, a Korean folk museum, a sports playground, modern cinema, and countless attractive entertainment points. Indeed, Lotte World is a top entertainment area.
