If you’re planning a trip to Dalat and searching for a hotel that combines charm, comfort, and a great location, this Sammy Dalat Hotel review is for you. During our recent family getaway, we stayed at this French-inspired hotel in the heart of the city, and it turned out to be a delightful mix of vintage elegance and practical convenience.
From the nostalgic architecture to the friendly service and spacious rooms, Sammy Dalat Hotel gave us everything we needed for a relaxing stay with our two daughters. Whether you’re traveling with kids, as a couple, or solo, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat just steps from Dalat’s top attractions like Xuan Huong Lake and the night market.
Read on to see what we loved, what surprised us, and whether this hotel deserves a spot on your Dalat itinerary.
Hotel Overview & A Touch of History
Located on Le Hong Phong Street in central Dalat, Sammy Dalat Hotel is a well-known 4-star hotel that blends French colonial charm with modern Vietnamese hospitality. Although it officially opened in 2008, its architecture, interior design, and atmosphere feel much older, in the best way.

The arched windows, wooden banisters, red carpets, and classical details evoke the feeling of staying in a mid-century European hotel. For travelers who enjoy a sense of nostalgia and warmth, this style is a major highlight.
It’s a short walk from some of Dalat’s most popular sights, including Xuan Huong Lake, Crazy House, the Night Market, and the old Dalat Cathedral. Whether you’re in town for sightseeing or relaxation, the location makes this hotel a convenient choice.
Experience Sammy Dalat Hotel
First Impressions
I drove my family from Nha Trang to Dalat, directly to the hotel after a delicious lunch. When we arrived, the hotel’s large white exterior and leafy entrance gave us a calm, elegant welcome. The lobby was spacious and softly lit, with French-style furniture, floral arrangements, and a polished check-in counter.

The front desk staff were polite and attentive. On a cold, rainy day, they greeted us with warm smiles and good welcome drinks, helped with our luggage, and gave us clear instructions for breakfast and facilities. After a smooth check-in, we took the elevator up to our room, ready to unwind after a long journey.
My Super Deluxe Room Experience
Our room was large enough for our family of four, with two comfortable beds, a clean bathroom with a bathtub, and a balcony that looked out over a peaceful part of the city. The decor was traditional, with wooden furniture, classic drapes, and warm lighting.

While the room didn’t have air conditioning, it did include a tower fan and large windows that opened wide to let in Dalat’s naturally cool breeze. For us, it was more than enough, even refreshing at night.
We appreciated the thoughtful touches, like a minibar, electric kettle, slippers, and complimentary bottled water. The room was clean and well-maintained, even if some of the furniture felt slightly dated.
Dining & Amenities
Breakfast was served buffet-style in the hotel’s main restaurant. It included a mix of Western and Vietnamese options: pho, fried noodles, eggs, pastries, fruit, and coffee. There were enough kid-friendly choices for our daughters, who especially loved the bread and fresh juice.
The hotel also has a spa, a karaoke lounge, several bars, and a restaurant. While we didn’t use every facility, we did notice other guests enjoying the massage services and karaoke in the evening.
For travelers interested in entertainment without leaving the hotel, these options are a plus. Just note that some rooms near the karaoke lounge may hear noise during the evening.
Location Highlights
Sammy Dalat Hotel’s location is one of its best features. From the entrance, we could easily walk to:
- Nậm Nướng, a great BBQ restaurant within a few steps from the hotel.
- Xuan Huong Lake (5 minutes).
- Crazy House (10 minutes).
- Dalat Night Market (10 to 15 minutes).
- Dalat Cathedral (10 minutes).

We didn’t need a car or a taxi for most of our trip. For longer distances, besides a car, Grab and taxi services were always available and affordable choices to avoid scarce parking lots.

Our Family Perspective
Traveling with kids can be unpredictable, but Sammy Dalat Hotel made things easy for us. Our daughters had enough room to move around, enjoyed the breakfast, and loved looking out from the balcony. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time.
The overall quiet and elegant vibe was a nice contrast to the busy areas around the night market. This is a hotel that respects your need for rest but still gives you access to the best of Dalat.
