Most of our drives into Montreal took around 30 minutes, which was completely reasonable considering the lower hotel rates and free parking included with the stay.

Traveling with 4 adults and 4 kids naturally meant we had a lot of bags and family items, so using the staircase multiple times during the trip was not very convenient.

For solo travelers or couples with lighter luggage, this may not be a major issue. However, for families with young children or travelers with mobility concerns, the lack of elevators is something important to consider before booking.

This was honestly the one feature that impacted our experience the most during the stay.

Comfort Inn Laval may not be the most modern or luxurious hotel near Montreal, but for our family road trip, it worked well as a clean, affordable, and convenient place to stay outside the city center. The free parking, comfortable beds, and reasonable price made it a practical choice for travelers exploring Montreal by car, especially compared to the much higher hotel prices downtown.

The biggest drawback was definitely the lack of elevators. Carrying luggage, bags, and kids’ belongings up the stairs after a long drive was not ideal, especially when staying on the upper floor. The included breakfast was also fairly basic, though still convenient before heading out for the day.

Overall, I’d recommend Comfort Inn Laval mainly for road trippers, couples, and budget travelers looking for a simple short stay near Montreal with easy parking and decent comfort. While I’d probably try a different hotel on my next visit just to experience other options, I still think this hotel offers reasonable value for the price we paid.
