It’s totally true! According to World Atlas, the Republic of Indonesia is one of the few countries in the world with territories stretching across 2 different continents. In addition to most of the area located in Southeast Asia, the country also has sovereign provinces located in Oceania.

In particular, Indonesia’s two provinces Papua and West Papua locates in the region of Oceania. Which, Papua is the province with the largest area in Indonesia, which is up to 319,036 km2. In contrast, West Papua is the province with the smallest population in the country with more than 115,000 people.
