Top 16 Attractive Destinations on Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc Island now is a very popular destination in Vietnam for traveling with beautiful beaches. However, the island also has many undiscovered places that wanderers may not know. Right at the time I just came back from Phu Quoc, let The Broad Life show you the hidden spots on the island.

1. Star Beach

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc, Star Beach attracts a lot of travelers. The beach is wild and clean with fine sand under your feet. Its beauty can be compared to many well-known beaches in the world. Therefore, anytime you come to Phu Quoc, don’t miss out on this place. Let’s come and enjoy the fine sand or swim in the cool water!

2. Thom Islet

The ship carries tourists for ‘squid-ding’ activity.

A lot of people call the island ‘The Gem of Charm’. The reason for the nickname is simply recognized by anyone who comes to Thom Island, the white long sand, the beautiful corals, the lines of coconut trees, or the clear water that you can even see fishes. Besides that, there are many activities for visitors such as fishing, ‘squid-ing’ (I mean catching the squid haha), diving, trekking, etc.

3. Phu Quoc’s Vinpearl Land and Vinpearl Safari

Vinpeal Land Phu Quoc is a paradise for anyone with a lot of outstanding indoor and outdoor activities such as a water show, a wide aquarium with different sea creatures, and a large amusement park with varied games. Those all are made to please any picky visitors. Alongside, Vinpear Safari is the largest land that carries and reserves a lot of plants and animals that you can for sure feel excited to see. There are many special animals but I won’t tell you here, leaving it as a curious point for you to explore.

4. Ham Ninh Fishing Village

I and my friends visited Ham Ninh fishing village on the day of June 2018.

Ham Ninh is an old fishing village on Phu Quoc Island. Coming to this destination, visitors can enjoy the feeling of a peaceful village at the same time as the vibrant activities of the fishermen. Furthermore, this is also the best place to watch the sunset. It also has many restaurants that serve delicious seafood at a good price.

5. Ganh Dau Apex

Different from the vibrant of the Southside, Ganh Dau Apex, on the other hand, is quiet, peaceful, and a bit wild. Located in the very North of Phu Quoc Island, Ganh Dau Apex is attractive with the green forest, a lot of old trees, and the friendliness of the locals. Moreover, there are Ganh Dau and Ganh Da with rocks in different special shapes at the spot. You can also see Ban Island, Ta Lon Mountain, and Kaoh Ses of Cambodia far away.

6. Sim Liquor Manufactories of Phu Quoc Island

Sim is a very well-known liquor at Phu Quoc. Visiting Sim Liquor Manufactories is, therefore, becoming a popular activity on the island. Visitors can learn the whole manufacturing process from A to Z, from gathering the sim fruits to making the final product: the liquor. The special liquor comes from handmade processes and the special fruit is grown on the island.

7. Tranh Stream

Tranh Stream consists of many small streams flowing from Ham Ninh mountain, which is 15km long. Coming to Tranh Stream, visitors can understand more about Phu Quoc Island with the ‘golden forest, silver sea’. To illustrate, the stream’s area is a huge green forest with mosses, a clean atmosphere, and cool water flowing from the streams. Visitors can go to the headspring to go camping, bathe, enjoy the landscape, and take great photos. It’s about 300m to trek from the bottom to the headspring. The peaceful and beautiful stream definitely will bring you an enjoyable experience.

8. Pepper Plants

Phu Quoc’s pepper is a special ingredient of the island with its good smell, a bit spicy, and strong in taste compared to other kinds. Currently, there are about 715 families growing pepper plants on the island with 300ha in areas that produce 800 tons/year.

If you love the images of green pepper plants, especially when they all grew up, you definitely will have a lot of nice pictures with family or friends. Furthermore, coming to the farms, you will be instructed on growing, taking care, timing, and harvesting the plants as well as how to make it to the final product.

9. Dinh Cau Apex

Dinh Cau Apex has a great location with a nice view of the blue sea and fine sand. Moreover, it is a nearby vibrant Duong Dong market and a night market with many things, and souvenirs that you can buy. Also, there are many kinds of seafood for visitors to enjoy.

10. Long Beach

The name Long Beach comes from the length of the beach, 15km long from Ganh Dau to Cua Can. Thanks to the nice location at the island’s North West and nearby forest, the beach’s climate is cool most of the time, in addition to the wind from the sea, all together make Long Beach become a very ideal destination for tourists coming to Phu Quoc island.

Long Beach is honored to be one of the wildest and most beautiful beaches in the world, nominated by ABC News in 2008. And don’t forget a beach wagon to both carry your stuff with ease and enjoy the moments thoroughly.

11. Mong Tay Islet

To be called by the name ‘The Sleeping Fairy’, Mong Tay Island is attractive by its own beauty. The island is located in the North of Phu Quoc, between Ba Lua Island and Hai Tac Island. Because of the bad condition of transportation, the island doesn’t have many locals. Therefore, it’s able to keep its wildness and beauty from the effect of artificiality. Come to the island, visitors are able to explore its beauty alongside its mystery and wildness.

12. Fish Sauce Manufactory

If you have been to Phu Quoc’s beaches too much that you want a different kind of destination to change the ‘atmosphere’, you may want to visit the fish sauce manufactories. You can find many of those around Dong Duong or An Thoi town. The fish sauce at Phu Quoc is famous for its high quality and is qualified to be exported abroad. Coming to the manufactories, visitors can also learn the process of making the best quality fish sauce on Phu Quoc island.

13. Cay Dua Prison

The historical site, Cay Dua Prison, is located in An Thoi town. Visiting the prison, tourists can see the restored images of the brave Vietnamese soldiers being tortured in the fight toward independence of the nowadays country. The prison is also mentioned a lot in the memoir of the writer Chu Lai.

14. Khem Beach

Located 25km away from Dong Duong town, Khem Beach belongs to the South of Phu Quoc Island. The beach is one of the well-known beaches on the island where many travelers come. It is beautiful with white fine sand and blue sea. You shouldn’t forget it when coming to the island.

15. Rach Vem Fishing Village

Rach Vem fishing village is becoming one of the famous destinations on the island currently. The beach is well-known as the “starfish kingdom” with not only many red starfishes found on the sand but also good seafood restaurants in the area. Indeed, you can find a lot of raft houses that sell cheap, fresh, and good kinds of seafood at the place. For sure, visitors can have a lot of good memories while playing at the beach.

Furthermore, when coming to this destination, you can easily take a lot of great pictures with your friends or family. Just be cautious when taking photos with the starfish as they are extremely sensitive to the air. It’s also the responsible travel that you should be aware of.

16. Khoai Islet

Khoai Island is also one of the most beautiful islands in the Southernmost of Vietnam. The island is beautiful with a lot of different plants in tropical areas.
